Keira Knightley
Knightley was born in London, the daughter of Will Knightley and Sharman Mcdonald. Knightley was able to get her first agent at the age of six years old. She began her career on commercials and television. The role she played was a small one as Sabe in the space-opera Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). Her first big breakthrough was when she played a teen footballer in the sports movie Bend It Like Beckham (2002), and was able to attain international fame for her role as Elizabeth Swann in the swashbuckler fantasy series Pirates of the Caribbean, which began in 2003. She was in the love comedy Love Actually (2003) and was considered a promising young star. As the character she played, Elizabeth Bennet in the period romantic comedy Pride & Prejudice (2005), Knightley was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. In addition to Atonement as a character, she acted as Georgiana Cavendish, the tastemaker on The Duchess and Anna Karenina's titular socialite. In modern dramas, she portrayed an aspiring music student In Begin Again (2012) and the role of a medical doctor as a doctor in Jack Ryan Shadow Recruit (2013). Knightley came back to dramatic dramas from the past, as Joan Clarke, in The Imitation Game and earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Additionally, she starred in Colette and played the character of the writer.
